TIRF USA chairs US National Distracted Driving Coalition

The National Distracted Driving Coalition (NDDC) was formed by the National Transportation Safety Board in 2021 to promote innovative and collaborative approaches to create a traffic safety culture of attentive drivers. TIRF USA was invited to chair the Coalition, leading the development of its National Action Plan and facilitating coordination of the Steering Committee and Stakeholder organizations to deliver the Action Plan. The NDDC is composed of diverse members and stakeholders representing a variety of organizations, including non-profits, industries, governments, academia and communities.

Distracted driving is a contributing factor to road deaths and injuries, and a priority concern shared by many organizations across many sectors. The National Action Plan has six key areas of focus: Data, Education, Employers, Enforcement, Legislation, and Technologies with reports or fact sheets released on each of these topics.
